It is amazing how quick the first year went but I can honestly say it was the best of my life and I am sure Jessica agrees. So let's lead off with our review of the last couple months with a birthday photo:
The cake was gone by the time Grady was through but much of it fell on the ground. We had an old dear friend the helped to clean up the mess.
Unfortunately as I write this post with tears in my eyes, my buddy... my puppy... passed away soon after this photo. He fought the cancer with all he could and we will miss him dearly. His ashes will be spread at Grandma and Grandpa Hunter's house this weekend. Achilles was approaching his 12th birthday and was a very good dog.
Ok, on to some more chipper news. One thing that REALLY came on strong soon after Grady's birthday was the walking. Oh, the walking. Grady went from taking a few steps and giving up for the much faster crawling one day to doing nothing but walking the next. Our friends Jonathan and Leslie (who joy us every Sunday for football) seemed to notice it the most because they were here one week and the occasional steps, and then returned the next to a roaming baby. Now a wild baby:
Let's see... other fun things we have done over the past couple months... how about Nicole and Eric Barker's wedding!
We learn two things from these photos:
1. Grady doesn't like to smile while dressed up
2. I sat on the right side during the wedding so no pictures of Eric's face
We have enjoyed our football Sunday's as well as our Saturday's here in Asheville. Last week Jessica gave me the nudge to have a guy day at Oktoberfest while she and Aunt Catherine took Grady to the local corn maze as Halloween quickly approaches. We also got our pumpkin yesterday for the church just down the road.
And this was just after a round of road bowling. Here's a picture right after we were finished:
Grady seemed to have a great time and was wiped out after a long day. As am I after a long Monday. I love my boy and my wife and I promise to keep this more up to date! (We have not set the bar very high)
