Beach Baby

In mid July we went to Charleston SC for Grady's first beach trip! The main reason for the trip was to visit Katie, Billy and their new daughter Claire, and Cindy's family (Josh, Amelia and Lane who is 2 months older than Grady) came down from WV. Carrie and David, and Alisa and Doug all ended up hanging out too! We had a great weekend - Grady and Lane are so close in age that they were really cute playing together on the beach. Grady LOVED the ocean - he would have crawled out to see like a baby sea turtle if we had let him!

Claire was about 5 weeks old and still so tiny. It's hard to believe that Grady was that small just a year ago. He has grown up so much.

Grady loved to eat the sand (of course), so we ended up giving him his pacifier most of the beach time. We usually only let him have it in bed or the car seat, but it was a much better option than him eating sand all day!

On Sunday before we left town, we met at a park - it was perfect! The kids could run/crawl around and we could talk and relax. The park was right on the river underneath the bridge connecting Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It was a great end to a really fun weekend with friends.
